Replacement clamp enquiries often arrive with only an old part number or a photo. That can be enough to start, but it is rarely enough to quote a safe installed assembly.
The fastest replacement RFQ separates known data from unknown data: old number, actual tube OD, series, mounting method, material, quantity, photos and any documents or certificates required for approval.
A replacement pipe clamp RFQ should send the old part number, actual tube OD, installed photos, mounting method, required scope, material/environment, quantity and approval documents instead of relying on a part number alone.
Replacement enquiries need more than a photo

Replacement RFQ data fields
| Field | What to Send | Why It Helps |
|---|---|---|
| Old part number | Brand, code, catalog page or nameplate photo. | Starts cross-reference but does not prove fit alone. |
| Actual tube OD | Measured OD at the clamp position, including coating if present. | Prevents DN/NPS or inch-name mistakes. |
| Installed photos | Front, side, mounting base, bolt head and surrounding route. | Shows mounting method and access limits. |
| Scope required | Body only, complete assembly, rail hardware, spare kit or project kit. | Avoids comparing incomplete quotes. |
| Approval needs | Datasheet, drawing, certificates, inspection record, delivery date. | Lets supplier quote real document scope. |
If you cannot identify the old clamp, send measurements and photos first; the supplier can usually narrow the series before quoting.

Subject: Replacement DIN 3015 pipe clamp quotation. Body: "Please quote replacement pipe clamp assemblies for the attached old part numbers/photos. Tube OD at clamp position: __ mm. Current application: __. Quantity: __ sets. Required scope: body only / complete assembly / rail hardware / spare kit. Material or environment: __. Please confirm equivalent DIN 3015 series, bore, mounting hardware, lead time, price and available documents before production."
Do not approve by part number alone
Old part numbers are useful, but brands and suppliers may change catalog codes, cover plate styles or rail systems. Before approving a replacement, compare the actual installed interfaces: bore, body group, bolt spacing, base or rail, bolt length, material and certificate scope.
When to request a trial order
Use a paid trial order when the replacement is for a critical line, old drawings are missing, the mounting rail is not standard, or the supplier is new. Approve one or two size groups first, then expand after dimensional and installation checks.
Frequently asked questions
Can a supplier quote a replacement clamp from photos only?
Photos help identify series and mounting style, but the actual tube OD, quantity, scope and mounting interface are still needed before production. A quote based only on photos should be treated as preliminary.
What is the most important measurement for replacement clamps?
The actual outside diameter at the clamp position. Also measure or photograph body width, bolt spacing, mounting base or rail system and bolt length when the old assembly must fit existing hardware.
Should replacement enquiries ask for body only or complete assembly?
Ask for the installed scope you need. If plates, bolts, rail nuts or locking parts are missing or worn, request a complete assembly. Body-only is suitable only when the existing hardware is known and reusable.
