Pipe clamps for steel-plant hydraulic and lubrication lines
Metallurgy applications place pipe supports near heat, scale, dust and heavy mechanical loads. The clamp layout should allow thermal movement while keeping hydraulic and lubrication lines protected from impact.
Material and environmentCarbon-steel hardware with suitable coating is common; review PA or metal inserts for elevated temperature zones.
Common selection risks
- Thermal expansion can load rigid supports if spacing is too tight.
- Dust and scale make rail-mounted components harder to inspect.
- Long hydraulic runs need strong base support at direction changes.
Recommended clamp approach
- Use long welded-base G4/G5/G6 for main hydraulic routes.
- Use rail-nut G9 where adjustment is needed during equipment commissioning.
- Use body-only G13 when the support structure is supplied by the equipment maker.
